What will they think of when they hear your name? I believe every human desires to have a sense of purpose, fulfillment, and significance. In one of Michael Jackson's interviews he made a profound statement relative to identifying your gifts; he said "I am music." The common narrative in the world we live in is to go to school, get a degree, get a job, pay bills, and die. Unfortunately, this narrative doesn't produce purpose driven individuals. We end up with people who hate what they do and don't ever feel the fulfillment they were designed to experience; and if that isn't bad enough they teach their children to follow that same system which is a generational disaster. Question, what actually is the difference between Beyonce and your co-worker at Starbucks? I believe we have a misunderstanding of what a job is and what work is. A job is a place you go to and they determine how much you are worth. How God defines work is to become, to manifest yourself, to execute your function. In everything God created, he placed the ability in the very thing itself. Fish don't (need swimming lessons), they were designed to swim. Imaging a bird that has ability to fly but chooses to never fly a day in its life, it just walks. The reason that doesn't make sense is because the bird was born to fly, it was designed to take flight, what a waste of a gift. I bet we all wish we could fly for a day. I bet some of us wish that we could sing like Beyonce as well. What are some things you are passionate about? And those are the things that make you significant. There are some things you can do that don't come natural to others. But where purpose is not known abuse is inevitable. Your gift is what gives you an area of ruling and influence so that you can fulfill your God given purpose because many are the plans in a mans heart but it is the Lord's purpose that will prevail.
